Most insurance companies cover sudden and accidental water damage. This would be a plumbing failure that floods your home. However, a leak that has occurred for more than 2 weeks is no longer a sudden water leak. Either way the damage should be mitigated to prevent any mold or rot issues down the road. As someone that was an independent insurance adjuster we can help you navigate the claims process.
No. In order to prevent further damage, you should at least get the damage assessed by a mitigation company. We can help you start the claims process to get dry out and repairs started.
